Silverstone Classic 2013

Post by Rick »

This years Silverstone Classic is being held on the 26/27/28 July the LCR will have a club stand and we have requested it to be on tarmac this year after last years debacle, whether we get or not we will have to wait and see, there will be a change to the booking procedure this year, instead of the LCR organising the booking with Silverstone for the display, and for the camping. It will be down to individual members to make there own bookings.

The LCR has been given our own booking reference C13261 this must be quoted when making an individual booking. The Early Bird tickets for car club display are on sale now for the three day package the cost is £80 per ticket, for a Fri / Sat ticket the price is £60, for a Sat / Sun ticket the price is £70. For single day tickets the cost is £35 for Friday, £50 for Saturday and £45 for Sunday, there will be limited tickets for sale for Saturday only.
Children’s tickets are priced at £10 for a three day ticket, £7.50 for a two day ticket, and single day tickets are at £5. Child tickets are for 6-16 year olds, children under 5 go free.

There will be NO tickets available to purchase on the day of the event for car club display.

Camping at the Silverstone Woodlands campsite is priced at £40 per person for the weekend no discount for 1 or 2 days, Children are £15 per child 6-16, under 5 are free

The web site for booking space on the Club Stand and for Camping is WWW.SILVERSTONECLASSIC.COM
If you are attending this event can you please let me know which days you are attending so we can make enough space available.

As of todays date we have 4 LCs booked, the early bird scheme ends on the 31st March so you need to get booking to take advantage of the 2 for 1 promotion, if we don't have a big enough take up we may have to cancel the club stand and those already booked will have to exhibit in the one make area.

We have had a request from the organisers of this event, there is a press & media launch for this event on May 8th, as this is the 50th year of the LC they have asked if they could have 2 LCs on display at the entrance of hall 3, they have also asked if there are a couple of race prepped cars that could be made avalible to take VIPs and people from the media around the track, ( these can be the same cars that are on display).

if any member is able to oblige please let me know.

The LCR has been given the opportunity to have a Parade on the track at dusk on the Sat evening, but we would need more than the five cars that are currently booked in.

Just received the info from Silverstone, this year we are with the other Lotus Clubs in area Orange 19, which is just by the side of the stage area, close to all the amenities, we also have a Track Parade on Saturday evening, lets hope the weather is better than last year.
