Where should the rubber boot seal be fitted? I have looked at pictures on the internet and seen it both glued onto the boot lid and into the channel on the body .
I would obviously like to fit it correctly
Thanks Dave

And it's a pig of a job to get right!!! Study all the photos you can before you start. Make sure you have the correct profile seal, and you put the adhesive on the correct side. It's much easier to do with the boot off the car, and a spare pair of hands definitely help.

Re: Boot seal
The car is a 66 Lotus cortina , I fear I may have the wrong profile rubber as it doesn’t seem to sit comfortably on the boot lid , it actually seems to fit better on the body , any pictures would be welcome especially of the correct profile , any recommendations as to a supplier for the correct part ?
This is the profile I have
