Identification Plates

Post by Tomtecno »

Where does the small identification plate (not the vin plate) fit on an airflow mk 1 and what information does it contain? My body shell has had new inner wing tops fitted but I still have the original plate and I need to refit it in the correct position so any info or photos would be great.

Its the build plate which was attached at the start of the cars construction, it contains the designation code for a Lotus Cortina, whether its RHD or LHD and the consecutive number of the build,

It sits on the flat of the top plate on driver's side of the inner wing just behind the bonnet hinge.

Just my personal opinion but it's 52 years old so what's wrong with it looking a bit scruffy?
