New Race Car

Just bought a Lotus Cortina to race in the Classic Touring Cars Racing Club. I am told by those who have raced against it some years ago that it is the ex Les Nash "Purple People Eater" but it has no vin plate or V5 so there is some doubt. The role cage has been "signed" in weld by Vaughan Nash.

Its had a hard life but will be back out on track soon.

Interested to know if any of you know the car....it's now yellow with a black stripe down the centre.

It was GBP 3C ex police car at one time.

Thanks Keith. Indeed I have seen that number on an early photo of the car. Without a VIN plate I couldn't prove it is that car I suppose unless anyone here thinks otherwise?

Does it have the 65 shell or is it a pre-aeroflow one?

If it's the original, you may be able to find the lettering on the rear parcel shelf which confirms it.
