Pageant of Power (15/16/17th July) 166 RUR

Post by flyinghorse »

Heard that 166RUR will be there (Kevin Kivlochan) from a friend who is taking a car.

I dont know anything about 166 RUR except the Chris Rea association, and its meant to be one of the oldest LC's and first works car(?) but "search" on the LCR brought up some interesting threads.

Despite the rain, it was a cracking show. I'd go so far as say it's better than Goodwood festival of speed in a lot of ways.

Spotted this mk2 in the classic car club section.

I had the chance to have a couple of chats with the owner and his family.

I'd put this down as essential for a LCR club stand next year!

What about the Goodwood Revival in September though?

Hard to choose, Pageant of power is much closer to FoS in format and layout, just more laid back.
Purely for close access to rare cars and bikes (the public were within feet of the 47 litre flame spitting BMW starting up).
For on track racing you can't beat Goodwood revival (silverstone Classic is close!).

I went in 2008 and will go again this year (hopefully), the 60s GT cars were awesome!
Seeing John Whitmore chatting to Jackie Stewart on the parade lap was unforgettable
