Stony Stratford would like to invite The Lotus Cortina Register to our Classic Car Event on the 7th June 2009.
We are delighted to report that Aston Martin, Morgan, MG and Austin Healey have all responded very positively.
The planning is at an early stage, however the pubs restaurants and retailers are looking at ways to make your visit enjoyable.
In its own right Stony Stratford is an attractive and historic town responsible for the legendary Cock and Bull Stories.
We also have an Industrial museum crammed with fascinating artifacts and a hanger full of interesting vehicles.
The Market square will be exclusively for the parking of the classics and we anticipate a low key concourse competition, most interesting car and perhaps furthest traveled competition.
If your group would be interested in joining us please let me know.
I would also appreciate an estimate of how many cars you might muster and any other ideas you may have to enhance the day.
Kind regards,
Andrew Freestone

Hi From Andrew Freestone,
Just a quick update on the Stony Stratford Classic Car Festival which has developed a momentum all of its own!
to the extent that we are asking owners of contemporary classics to park in Cofferidge Close which is just next door and will give them a bit more space and we may need to overflow further to the area at the back of the Cock and the Bull as the number of cars has risen dramatically.
There will be 3 prizes for visiting drivers which will include the original art work of the cars as seen on the web site and something from Aston Martin
who are binging along the ex Paul McCartney DB6 which will be nice to see.
If you fancy lunch in the Crown or the Bull I recommend you book, just to be on the safe side.
We have also produced a brochure to guide you around the short Historic stroll in Stony which I’m sure you will enjoy.
There will also be a draw for a £200 voucher to spend on sunglasses [prescription if necessary] donated by Lesley Arkin the local optometrists
whose motto is See Well, Drive safely ,which is always good advice.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 7th
Kind regards,

Hi from Andrew Freestone,
The last e-mail before the big day [Honest]
Just a couple of things to report, The Willen Charity Bookshop in the High Street has amassed a large amount of car related books for the day ,so there could be some interesting bargains to be had,
,so pop along and visit them before I do.
Starting at 12.30 in the Vaults Bar off the High Street will be live Folk music all washed down with a pint of real ale [for the navigator], free entry, perfect!
It looks like the weather is going to be a bit English ,but who really knows, anyway as Sterling Moss once said” There’s no such thing as bad weather ,just bad clothes”.
Even if you approach us from the south the best way into town is from the northern entrance, it will be sign posted .This will keep most of the traffic moving in the same direction.
Because of the fantastic response we have had from the classic car owners we have expanded the parking area to encompass Cofferidge Close which is just next door and still very much in the thick of it.
See you Sunday, Drive safely.
Kind regards,
