Anyway, he asked me what was the registration no. of a Lotus Cortina I once owned, to which I replied FGF 113C. He told that is the car in an article in the August Retro Ford Mag. about the MK1 Lotus Cortina with many photos of FGF 113C.
What a great surprise to see the car looking so good and now part of the Heritage Collection. I was also a little surprised to read that it was in original condition as it was certainly looking a little tired when I sold it to fund a new kitchen (the things we do for a quiet life!).
I did not keep any paperwork. but from my fading memory I bought it from a chap in Thatcham nr Newbury for £400 in around 1976 and sold it some 10 years later when it went to Wales I believe.
In between it spent most of its life in my garage, until I joined the Classic Saloon Car Club and entered my first (and only) race at Snetterton, hence the black cross on the rear.
I would dearly like to know its past history .....
