Mk1 & Mk2 Cortina, Anglia 105E and Corsair national rall

Post by H Cortina »

The Mk1 Cortina, Mk2 Cortina, Anglia 105E and Corsair Owners Clubs are holding their National rallies together this year at one large event.

Venue - Stratford upon Avon Racecourse.

Dates - 16th and 17th August 2008. Camping available from the Friday 15th. Please note that Sunday 17th is the main National rally day.

We have the potential that up to 200 classic Ford's will be there on the Sunday.

pm me for more details particularly if you are not a member of any of the clubs but want to attend anyway.

ps

Yes i know it clashes with Battlesbridge.

This year one of the big deciders is the cost of fuel. Since January petrol has risen by 30% which you have to take into account.

The other criteria is personal choice. Battlesbridge in Essex is an extremely popular event.

Remember our road system is mickey mouse, we have so many motorway delays that also has a bearing on how far people travel.

Hovering around £1.30 / litre = 2.68 aus dollars

Just realised that's diesel, unleaded is about £1.22 = 2.52 = aus dollars

Out of interest how much are others on here around the world on here paying?

£1.22 = 2.43 us dollars or 2.46 canadian dollars or 1.55 euros or 3.23 new zealand dollars.

ps

I'm not a currency expert but google is!

What octane rating are we talking about?
When I bought my car there was 5 star at 101 for cars like LCs, standard unleaded in the UK is now 95 with the premiums at 97-99 depending on the retailer.
Do you have a choice in US, Aus and NZ?

1.68 a litre Aussie dollars is for unleaded 91

premium ( 95ron) about 5 cents or more dearer

diesel is around 10cents more so about $1.80 a litre

I'm currently down in the Czech Republic and used about 160 litres to get here (just under 900 miles). Mind you fully loaded with a top box doing 120+ on the German Autobahns does tend to kill the MPG!!
