Seeking the whereabouts of my old car (if it still exists). Registration Number ORX 44 F
I was the second owner of the car that I bought from Gowrings the Ford Main dealer in Newbury, Berks when I lived there in the early 70's.
The car was painted overall in Silver Fox Metallic.
Another really distinguishing feature is that the car had an extra fuel tank fitted in the boot by the first owner.
I saw the car just once shortly after I sold it parked in Newbury High Street and saw that the bonnet was painted matt black.
It would be interesting If anyone can remember any Mk 2 with an extra fuel tank fitted as perhaps it may have been a unique 1 off fitting.

It's not listed on the DVLA database so gone I suspect.

I sort of guessed that the car no longer exists Keith, and like you I looked on the DVLA website.
It was a bit of a long shot in case it may have been shut away in a lockup or similar and forgotten about long before the requirement for SORN came into force.
