Hi there,
Joined this forum with the hope of tracing some history of my dads old MK1 Lotus Cortina.
He owned MGH 500D in the early 80's and did a full restoration on it. I will try and upload some pics that I have.
After my brother was born in 1985, my dad sold the car for £1500 ish, I remember it driving off the drive....
My dad didn't actively keep tabs on it, but had heard it was crashed/written off shortly after the new owner purchased it.
In recent years my dad was in a queue at a petrol station, and on the cover of either Fast Ford or Retro ford was a lotus cortina, wearing the number plate MGH 500D......
The car was now a race car, in Alan Mann tribute colours. He bought the magazine but really couldn't tell of it was his old car or a re-shell.
As my Dad turned 60 earlier this month I thought it would be nice to try and chase a bit of history on the car since he sold it in the mid 80's.
Can anyone fill in the gaps? Thank you in advance,
Lee Crofts (yes my name came from the initials of Lotus Cortina )

Re: MGH 500D
Brian Stevens appears to have owned/raced it when it was red and gold
