Tool kit hook

Post by madanorak »

Hi all,

I'm after a tool kit hook for a LC Mk2. Mine is long gone so if any one has got a spare, or could anybody send my a photo of what it looks like with dimensions so I could make my own, that would be good.

Many thanks.

That's the beastie, is that a spare you would sell, if not if you could give me the dimensions of mounting bracket,it's hole diameter and the hook itself then I can make one. A close up of the bracket would be nice, to see how it is folded, if that is possible.

I believe these were held in place with well nuts,(rubber mounted nut) is that correct?

Many thanks for your help.

That's the one I fitted to my car a couple of years ago - not even sure now why I took a photo of it!!
I will try to get some better photo's and some dimensions over the weekend. I will check but I am pretty sure it just bolts to the spare wheel well with standard bolts etc. The rubber mounted nuts are used to secure the bungee cord (I think).

Hi,
Photo's below with some imperial dimensions. Best I can do I'm afraid. Hopefully you can roughly scale any other dimensions you need.

Hi Bob,

I thought it was too good to think you had a spare, but what you've done and measured is perfect. I just need to get some correct thickness bar, and make one up.

Really grateful, and if our paths cross, I'll buy you a pint or two.

Regards

No problem - people on here were very helpful to me when I refurbished my Mk 2 LC.

LCR Member was making the bungy cord maybe he is also making the hook. Worth dropping him a message. I think his forum id is Dave C

Yup, much easier to buy one from Dave than it is to go making one

Was a member years ago, old membership number was 699, it lapsed in 1985/86 when there was a lot of unrest in the club and too much politics. Will probably look into re joining, although am already in 2 other clubs, the Jensen Owners Club and Stourbridge Prewar and Classic Car Club.

Will contact Dave, thanks for all your help.

Thanks all,

One is on its way to me from Dave, complete with bungee and fixings. Sorry to have wasted your efforts Bob, but the pint offer is still there if we cross paths.

Hook arrived today, with bungee and fixings, looks good, so now will be stored away ready for fitting.
