17years to make up your mind.
I didn't realise it was 17 years ago when I last saw the car, snug away in the corner of one of his barns. The Lotus had been severely stripped, I suppose for one of Winks racing projects, seven days searching through every inch of barns, sheds and workshops, found nearly every missing part except the engine , and at last the car was wheeled into the light of day for the first time for 32 years.

I'm guessing Robert Winkelmann out of northern California had this time capsule hidden away in a barn for all of those years. What is the current status and future plans?

Well we have had trouble with the pink slip, not trouble, he had lost or mislaid it and it couldn't be shipped to the UK without it . We took all the other documents to the DMV just outside San Fransisco last Monday week ,it took all day but we succeeded but had to wait till today to get the title so, all being equal it will be on the next available vessel to the UK. And yes, at the moment I have every intention of a total rebuild, it's all there, why not.

Have the rules changed
I imported a 66 mk1 from California around 8 years ago
This car had no title
As the engine was missing at the time I imported it as a parts car and a title was not needed. Just a bill of sale
Do parts cars now need title to get out of Long Beach ?
