ahh steven philips of fast lane cars, standish near wigan.wonder whatever happened to him.this ad must be from about 1987-90 if i am correct, keith.me and my dad went to view these cars and the prices were £5000 up to £15000 even back then.he had a pile of srap shells with log books for £2500 each but we weren`t interested.my dad ended up buying a sierra xr4i off him though  he had a beautiful showroom full of glorious cars.i remember drooling over an RS200,RS500s,a mk1 RS2000 for £8000! and his own car was a ferrari with a "i`d rather be driving my lotus cortina"sticker in the back window.he shut down in the early 90s.wonder if he`s got anything left if he`s still about!

Checked the 98/99 issues of Quarter Bumper that list the cars on the register. I found EUK 900C, 272 UWL, AOV 252B and FDG 301C listed but no sign of DSA 450C.

272 UWL up for sale again - looks nice car. Original ad was wrong as it's a '64 car.

I sold 272UWL,FDG301C and AOV252B to Steven Phillips in January 1988 in one deal.I had all three cars present at the first Lotus Cortina Day at Ashton Court Bristol in the summer of 1987.AOV252B was one of the last pre-airflows made and at some point was the last surviving made pre-airflow on the register.I think it is now in Japan.I bought 272UWL back last year and have restored the car as seen in the advert. The car is open to offers.I do not know where FDG301C is at the moment but I restored the car in 1985,I also had the original engine of the car rebuilt to semi race spec.

Nice to get a bit of history on these cars - thanks Trevor & good luck with the sale, it looks superb.

Just a minor point, and living up to my reputation of being "picky", the first LCR national day was at Ashton Court, Bristol, on May 25th 1986, not the summer of 1987 as previously stated.
I know, I was there, and I've got the plaque to prove it!
