Tour of Kent on Sunday 6th October 2013
The Blackpalfrey organisers are pleased to announce new venues and routes for this year's Tour of Kent
on Sunday 6th October. The start will be at the Maidstone Mercure Hotel (Great Danes) just off J8 of the
M20 and close to the beautiful Leeds Castle. From here the route will take entrants across the
picturesque Romney Marshes to Coffee at the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway at New Romney,
where there will be the opportunity to see working steam locomotives, view the museum and model
railway. From there we take you just over the county boundary into East Sussex for lunch at Bodiam
Castle where you will have ample time to enjoy the delights of this moated castle. The finish will be back
at the Maidstone Mercure Hotel (Great Danes) for afternoon tea. The route will cover 120 miles and visit
some of the most picturesque villages and lanes of Kent.
The entry fee of just £60 for a car and two people covers and includes lunch and tea plus of course the
comprehensive route book, containing both easy to follow tulip instructions and marked maps, rally plate
and finishers award. As usual, there will also be a concours competition.
For those wanting to make a weekend of it, the Mercure Hotel is offering discounted rates for all
entrants.
This year we are supporting the Demelza Hospice for Children, a local Kent charity that provides fantastic
support for children and their families.
