50 Year Celebration at Muscle Car Masters Sydney

Post by Peter Meyer »

We are planning a display and tribute to 50 years of the MK1 Lotus Cortina at the Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park on September 1st this year. This will be under a marque and a very professional display(we hope) with regalia and paraphanlia and historic drivers and race cars as well as standard cars of course.
Organisation is well advanced with invitations about to be sent out.
Geoff Bayliss is in charge of the event from the cars aspect.
Geoff's phone number is +61421108977. Geoff owns a fabulous MK1 that travelled overland from UK and it's history is well documented.
Our proposed logo for the event is below.

Hi Everyone
This is our big opportunity to present and promote these beautiful cars to
the folks that will be attending this event in September.
Australian Muscle Car Masters is one of the most popular events on the
motor sport calendar and is held every year on Father's Day, crowds
in excess of 30,000 over 3 days attend to a feast of historic touring car racing where everything is fast and furious. To see as we did recently
a Lotus Cortina beat the very best field including Mustangs, Minis,
Chevys and Holdens. The Lotus Cortina I'm referring to is a regular participant driven by the very talented Scott Fleming and he really revives the halcyon days of Jimmy Clark, one of his recent victories had the huge crowd give him a standing ovation.
Cheers Geoff
