Car show near Bristol?

My eldest son lives in Bristol & I'd like to drive over one day this year & take him to a local classic car show.

I've looked at the Bristol Classic Car Show but Shepton Mallet is another hours drive on top of my 165 mile drive from home. (Why don't they call it the Shepton Mallet Classic Car Show?)

Do any West Country folk know of any car shows in or close to Bristol that they could recommend?

There are a few good events at Castle Combe which is'nt that far away.
Rally day and the Club lotus day are two good events.

I've been a bit of a regular at the Club Lotus day at Castle Combe for a while now so will probably go again this year. Met up with a couple of LCR members there last year. Sorry, can't remember names but nice blokes with nice cars.

I wouldn't want you to run away with the idea I'm a member though. I applied in 1969 & was told they didn't consider the Mk1 Lotus Cortina to be a proper Lotus. Their loss!

I've had another search on Google & found the Summer Classics event at Easter Compton Aug 10/11th. Looks quite good & convenient for picking my lad up so will look to do that. Free entry for cars on club stand????????

Hope to meet up with a few more members over that way during the year.

We already have 72 entries for our Cherished Vehicles Show to be held on 2 June 2013 at Allington Farm, Chippenham, Wilts SN1 6LJ on the A420 towards Bristol.

The number of entries already far exceeeds those entered for last year's event by this time.

Our final total in 2012 was 120, and we had a splendeid Show.

Don't miss it, the 2013 Show is going to be great!

Send Owner/Driver's Name, Vehicle Make, Model, Year and Registration Number to enter. Multiple entries on one email are totally acceptable. Exhibitors, vehicles and up to one passenger are free.
