Simon PM sent many thanksSimon G wrote:You're probably not too late Rob. The organiser originally agreed to 25 cars on the stand. At the moment excluding you and Wayne, we have 26 cars, BUT this is spread over 2 days. Most people are coming for the whole weekend but some are only attending for the National Day itself on the Sunday and others only for the Saturday (as the Ford show at Battlesbridge is on the Sunday). Therefore we will probably have less than 25 cars on the stand on each day. Best thing to do is for you and Wayne to send me all your details, including full name, Reg No. and address and I will add your names to the list. The final arrangements for the show won't be in place until end of May. I am optimistic that everyone who has expressed an interest will be able to attend.

I have received a communication from the organiser of the Lotus Festival. Some good news as it's been confirmed that everyone who has expressed an interest will be able to attend. I have received two further expressions of Interest from Colin Ginn and Karl Fiala so that makes a total of 29 cars for the weekend. We should have 23 cars on Saturday and 22 cars for the National Day on the Sunday which will still be a good turn out.
We have been allocated space for a club stand on a grassed area close to the main gate. This is where the security teams are based so vehicles should be safe overnight. There are no issues with members wishing to attend for one day only, although if you are attending just on the Sunday, I would urge you to try to get there as early as possible. It's also been confirmed that exhibitors are free to leave the site if they wish on the Saturday evening as a barrier system is in operation on the gate.
I am still waiting for confirmation about the location of the campsite but apparently the website will be updated soon with a map of the site. The Website has already been updated to confirm LCR attendance. Link here (click on the car clubs section):

Tickets will be forwarded to me soon. I will be on holiday for 2 weeks from 28th June so if anyone has any queries about the National Day after this date, please send me an email or PM and I will reply on my return.

I have today spoken to Paul Golding, organiser of the Lotus Festival regarding our ticket allocation. Paul has informed me that the tickets will be sent to me by the end of this week and he has very kindly offered to include some extra tickets for the weekend and Sunday only. I have informed Paul that any tickets not allocated will be returned so this is your last chance to secure a place if you wish to attend. It's not often these days that you can attend a major event like this free of charge so if there is anyone else out there who wishes to come along please let me know by Friday 27th July at the very latest.
Many thanks

Brendan - I received only just enough weekend passes and these were all posted out today. I do have a few spare tickets for the Sunday only though so you could come along if you wish - remember, your National Day needs you. You know it makes sense!
Give me a call or send me a PM if you're interested

So that means 26 cars on Saturday and 25 on Sunday. Hopefully I've not missed any one out.
I'm really looking forward to this. All the cars are so special and it will be great to see so many newly completed restorations. It will also be great to see 25, 26 and 27 VUR all parked together on the Saturday, perhaps for the first time since they were produced? Should be quite a sight!
