Wonderland Show

Post by Rick »

And now something for the Midlands
The BIG news for 2012 is that
we have moved venue !
We are staging WONDERLAND 2012 on
the huge show fields on the banks of
the River Trent at Ferry Farm Park—
Hoveringham, 5 miles North of
Nottingham !
This is a beautiful green field site—not
previously used for any type of car show and
with plenty for the children to do at the Farm
Park (20% entrance discount for festival visitors
going through to the farm Park)
We have also moved dates from the previous
Spring Bank Holiday weekend to avoid
clashes with other events.
New features for 2012 will include :
• ‘Olympic’ themed display areas
• Saturday judging*
• Saturday extended opening until 6pm
• New live band ‘The Arcades’
• Bar marquee plus catering on the show
fields
• Reduced entry fees if booked and paid
by 20.05.12 (see entry forms for details)
* Sunday will still remain the main judging day with full
range of categories as in previous years, but judging will
also take place on the Saturday with broader categories.
Why not come along for BOTH days and aim to win two
awards ! Your entry fee covers you for BOTH days
… PLUS ALL OUR FEATURE EVENTS
LISTED ON THE MAIN FLYER & WEBSITE
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR 2012 :
We will no longer be able to distribute entry
passes on the gate. Exhibitors: You must either
arrive with the your entry pass, or pay the
‘On The Day’ entry fee.
Only pre-booked entries will be eligible for
judging (same as last year)
Closing date for pre-booking & payment 20.05.12
Our 2012 event is dedicated to the
memory of Chris Hayward who died
peacefully at home in November
2011 after a long battle against
cancer.
Many will know Chris, who along side
wife Helen organised the ’Club’
bookings for our event and co
-ordinated the Judging operation.
Chris will be missed by all of us.

Club member. Chris Hayward
NEW for 2012
‘Olympic’ theme
The idea is to group ‘teams’
of cars from the same relevant country
together on the show field and identify
the countries with flags and display
boards i.e.
TEAM GB—TVR’s; MG’s; Triumph’s; Austin’s; UK manufactured Ford’s;
Jaguar’s etc and also cars modified in the UK such as the Tickford and
Turbo Technics Capri
TEAM USA—Mustang’s; Corvette’s; Chevy’s etc
TEAM Germany—Porsche’s; VW’s; BMW’s etc
TEAM Japan—Mazda MX5’s; Toyota MR2’s etc
TEAM Italia—Ferrari’s; Alfa’s; Lancia’s; Fiat’s; Lamborghini’s etc
The more varied and obscure the country—the better !
On the entry form this year is the option to ‘tick’ if you wish your car or
bike to be included within the ‘Olympic’ themed area. Please specify
the country to which your car/bike is most relevant—this may not
necessarily be the country of initial manufacture e.g. a MKIII Capri
built in Germany but modified by Tickford in the UK could be classed
as a ‘TEAM GB’ entry !
Club stands with an ‘Olympic’ theme and plenty of flags would be
most welcome !
Classic & Sports car ‘Festival’
We have adjusted our event name from a ’show’ to a ’festival’ as we
aim to bring back the atmosphere of the early ‘Old Skool’
Wonderland … we’re sure that you’ll enjoy it !
