Minehead Classic Tour

For those of you in the South West and surrounding areas.

Minehead Diamond Jubilee Festival 1st to 5th June 2012

Classic Tour: Sunday 3rd June

The route will cover approximately 50 miles, winding through country lanes with stunning scenery.
Entrants will be issued with a detailed route on the day

Eligibility
1. All vehicles must be registered, licensed and have an MOT
2. Drivers must hold a current driving licence for the vehicle being driven
3. Drivers must have valid insurance in accordance with Road Traffic Act requirements
and will be required to sign a declaration to that effect.

Entries
1. The closing date for entries is 19th May 2012
2. The entry fee of £30 includes
• coffee/tea and bacon butty for two
• a Monte Carlo style car plate
• lunch in the Field Kitchen of 1940’s Roadshow for two
(see www.the1940sroadshow.com)
• entry for the car to the static display on the seafront – Warren Road is to be closed to facilitate the display and further street entertainment and music

3. Cheques should be made payable to Minehead Chamber of Trade and should
accompany the entry form
4. Entries to: Jill Homewood, The Barn, Woodcombe, Minehead. TA24 8SB
5. Refund of entry fees will be at the organiser’s discretion.

Identification and Documentation
1. Entrants will be provided with a ‘Monte Carlo’ type commemorative plate to be
displayed on the front of the vehicle
2. At the start entrants will be required to sign on and register with the organisers.
They should ensure their vehicle is roadworthy and conforms with eligibility above.


Start
Cars will leave the start at Minehead seafront from 9.00am at 30 second intervals
Cars should be at the Start at least 30 minutes before their start time.

Finish
Whilst your car is being admired by the public there is a wide choice of things to do, including
• Jubilee Tea Dance & Vintage Fair at the Hobby Horse www.hobbyhorseballroom.co.uk
• West Somerset Railway – steam trains: www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk
• Minehead is the start of the South West Coast Path. You may not want to walk all the way to Poole (600+ miles) but a climb up North Hill will take you to the old American tank grounds and some wonderful views over Exmoor and the Bristol Channel to Wales: www.minehead-online.co.uk/tanks.htm and www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk
• Stretch your legs on a shorter walk down to the old Harbour
Or just lazing on the beach

Minehead Visitor Centre in the Avenue will have plenty of information on the area.

Cancellation
Should unforeseen circumstances force cancellation of the event the organisers will view the return of any part of the entry fees with due consideration
