If any one is interested in classic Lotus F1 cars, a very special event is being held at Snetterton on 20th June. the 'Classic Team Lotus Festival' is a collection of all the historic Lotus F1 cars and includes Jim Clark's 1963 World Championship winning Type 25, Graham Hill's 1967 Type 49 and Mario Andretti's Type 77 JPS car. All other Lotus F1 cars will be on show, including Heikki Kovalainen's current F1 car.
There has been some articles in the local press about this event and the organiser Clive Chapman has explained that this is the first time that all historic Lotus F1 cars have been assembled in the same location. Given the difficulties in getting all owners to agree to bring their cars along (some cars have been transported from all over the world) it is unlikely to happen again in the future. Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli will also be at the event. Advance tickets are available at £20.00 per adult with free entry for children under 12. The day's racing will include the Lotus Elise Challenge and the Lotus Cup Europe. Further details are available on 0870 950 9000 or on the website at www.snetterton.co.uk

I have just received some more information on this event published in the local press. This is a truly unique event that is probably never going to be repeated. Some of the classic F1 cars have been shipped in from as far afield as Japan and Australia. Members of Jim Clark's family will be attending as guests of organisers Classic Team Lotus and the event will be opened by Hazel Chapman, widow of Colin Chapman whose son Clive is Managing Director of Classic Team Lotus.
Special dispensation has been given by the F1 governing body for the current Team Lotus F1 T127 car to be driven around the circuit and this will be the first time since 1994 that a current F1 car has been driven at Snetterton.
The classic Lotus F1 cars will be lined up in grid formation undercover so that visitors can see them close up. They will later be fired up in the paddock area before being taken around the circuit in groups by current F1 drivers and original Team Lotus Works drivers.
So for all you petrolheads out there, why not give yourself a Fathers Day treat and get along to Snetterton on Sunday?
