Lydden Hill race circuit 17th & 18th July display cars n

Post by H Cortina »

This idea is at the planning stage but i need some idea on the level of interest. The Classic Touring Car Racing Club is holding a two day race event at Lydden Hill Circuit (near Canterbury, Kent) 17th and 18th July, see their website for details http://www.classictouringcars.com/ Their 2009 event at Lydden included Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 Cortina's racing. Spend some time looking at their website, it is very good.

I have discussed with them the idea of having a static display of classic cars, all models not just Cortina's. There is the possibility of selective cars taking part in a parade lap each day during the lunchtime breaks.

The allocated area may be divided into club areas or just one big display area, that's yet to be decided.

At the moment i am trying to gauge the level of interest, so please email me direct at howard.law@hotmail.co.uk with your name, whether you would wish to go Saturday, Sunday or both days, and what car you would have. It does not have to be Ford and does not have to be a Cortina. There may be reduced entrance fee, but again details will be sorted later.

I will give clubs the opportunity of organising their own members once i have some idea on numbers.

Hi!

I,m a member of the CTCRC and all being well I will be competing at Lydden Hill in my Mk2 Lotus Cortina in the pre 74, and there should be at least 3 Mk1's in the the pre 66. The pits are open for anyone to wonder around so if you decide to go drop by and have a chat (we are a friendly bunch).

If the weather is good it's a nice little circuit and there is good viewing for spectators as nearly all of the track can be seen where ever you decide to watch from.

Apart from our races there is also the Classic Thunder race which is for highly modified cars, this is shaping up to be good viewing as the competion is highly intense.

I hope some of you can make it.

Tony
