Hi, no I have not joined up unfortunately. So what is the story about this car because it seems from all that is written here that it is a 'bitsa' with the original tags & reg number fitted.

Only interest is that my son owned this car 8 years ago & it needed much doing as it did 18 months ago. It would appear that this car has miraculously survived without any welding done but the seller professes not to know much about the reshell. Does not really ring true.

Regards,

Ken.

Thats the general theme running on the other thread, seems odd to reshell into another lc shell and then not use that cars id...
invite your son on here, it'll be interesting to hear about the car while he had it.
Cheers

I am on here, the "original shell" wanted a vast amount of welding doing, @ the time i bought it you could have purchased an up & running mk2 for the cost of the panels that were reqd!! all the ID tags were on the car & supplied to the new owner, if you look at the photo's on ebay there is no chassis plate visible in the correct place, i purchased RPN536G 4 years ago for £4650 this was unknown to the club until i took it to Mallory park national day along with dads crayford, RPN has had very little welding over the years but does get used throughout the summer months as aN L/C should be driven!! windows down & country lanes Ahhhhhh music to my ears...........

The car did need alot doing but not imposible. I was interested to buy the car in its un-restored state but i would have done the work and not re-shelled it. I would have bought it but i came accross the one in my sig (CTC 16E) and bought that instead.

Shame its been re-shelled, wonder where the original shell is? Hope not scrapped as it could have supplied a number of usefull panels.

Have a look at the bid history. Looks a bit sus. Click on the names that have bid, they are newish members and some only bid on one item which is the car and have had quite a number of retracted bids! Looks like hes got his mates to create accounts or he has and getting them to bid!.....??

One of the questions must be his mate as it says would you take 20k for it and he says no!!

He also will not publish all of the comments made, I have rebuilt cars in as bad a state as the "original" MWL l/c but @ the time it just wasnt viable!! now maybe a different story looking at the soaring cost of these cars, if you have an original unwelded l/c shell why put the ID of a rotten car in its place, this is what starts people asking questions,
There was another on Ebay earlier in the week in which the guy had been honest & said it had been rebuilt into a very good 2 door shell....... no problems there as he wasnt selling it as a "genuine" l/c......
