LCR National 2009 report/feedback etc..

Great day, I hope all got back okay.
I'll save the majority of my pics for the QB, but I'll drip-feed a few on here over the next few days.
40 LC's was a cracking turnout, well done to all, and special thanks to who gave up there time to organise and make sure the day went well (super special mention to Tim Turner for bringing along trailer (towed behind his LC) which was full of stand equipment to ensure we were the best looking stand.)
I probably should of spent 5 mins each with all 40 owner/drivers, instead of recounting old adventures with the usual suspects!

Great to see so many new faces and such great enthusiam for the cars.
Interested to hear what other's thought of the day.

Spot on weekend, not just the Sunday. Saturday evening meal was good, National day was very good. Nice to put faces to internet names!

Great event, great Saturday night and as said 40 LC's in one place including 3 MK11 Crayfords. Great selection of other fords on display and it was nice to have the auto jumble to rummage around. There was so much to see and not enought time to see it. The light rain shower in the after noon didn't ruin the day. All in all I thought is was a great show. I was so knackered this afternoon that I had to pull into the Service Station on the way home for a quick 40 winks!!

A big Thank you, to everyone who attended, considering the weather it was an excellent turn out. I must single out a couple members who without their help the day would not have been half as good,

A very big thank you, to Tim Turner for transporting the Flag pole, gazeebo and free standing banners, and providing table and chairs, without Tim's help we would have had a very sorry looking club stand.

Thanks also to Phil Hayller who kindly agreed to put FFA on display inside the Heritage Centre, and this almost certainly cost him a trophy, thanks again Phil.

Also thanks to Steve Booker for his help setting up on Sat and marshalling on Sun, Steve also provided a comperlation DVD which was shown in the Centre's theater.

Pictures of the event will be in the next QB along with the trophy winners, It was very inspiring to see freshly restored LCs on display for the first time, and to meet with new members, and I am sure those members with cars undergoing long term restorations would have gone away from Gaydon with more determanation to get their project completed.

Dale from MK1 Cortina Spares presented his trophy for the best MK1, whilst presenting the trophy he made referance to "cars being built from log books" in which I think I am correct in what he said which was cars could be re-created from a log book to keep the marque alive, this view is Dale's own view and it is not the view of the committee of the LCR, the LCR's view is quite the opposite and has been clearly stated many times before.

Hi All

I went on the Sunday only, but had a great day well worth the two hours from Cheshire.
I was certainly one that came away with a new found urgency to get my MK2 series one XOO 869F back on the road.

It was as Rick said good to put some faces to internet names.

The day helped me also with a problem I have been struggling with for some time now, should I paint it plain white as it is on the log book or should I put the stripe on it? Well after seeing both yesterday I was really impressed with how good the naked white looks so that's what it will be.

Great day can't wait for the next one and the first time I show my car. Thanks for a great day out.

Now back to ebay for somemore bits I'm missing.

You guys look like you had a great day. I would like to suggest the next National Day is in Kerikeri or the Bay of Islands. I really think you guys would like the weather and the roads into it are fun to drive. Any takers?

Thats what it said was agreed at the AGM in the Winter 2009 QB
