NEC Classic Motor Show 2023 club stand

Post by H Cortina »

The Lotus Cortina Register (LCR) have secured a 3 car stand at the 2023 NEC Classic Motor Show in November. Show days Friday 10th Saturday 11th Sunday 12th November.

We are now looking for three people to put forward cars for display. Committee will select if we have more than three volunteer. The main details are:

Your car will need to be there Thursday 9th November in the morning (earlier the better).
Driven or on a trailer is fine as NEC is trailer/recovery truck friendly.
Your car cannot be removed until early evening on Sunday 12th November. Recent experience says assume 7pm.
You are expected to stay all four days. Need to make early local hotel bookings.
Copious biscuits are a pre-requisite.

This is a brilliant but tiring event. On the plus side wrist bands mean you can tour the show before the public get in.
Our stand is in Hall 8 and we abut the Mk1 Cortina owners club, the Anglia 105e owners club and Ford Classic & Retro Sports Cars (another stand of mine).

Interested? By all means phone me to discuss 07778 856287.

Forgot to say we have a discount code for those looking to buy tickets early. Can't put on social media as they are club specific and the club benefits from people using the code. Phone me if you want the code.

Hi Howard,

Don't forget Wayne Wheeler has offered his gorgeous Ex Police Mk2. With Brian's early Mk1 that's a broad mix across the range of cars to start with.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had that lovely KPU car we had on the stand Sunday to complete the trio of fabulous cars!
Now where is that I wonder!!!

Lol!

Could end up with a choice as Roger DJD 312D has also expressed interest in having his car on the stand.

A space has become available, anyone up to put their car on the stand?

Preferably a Mk1 as the LCR celebrates the 60th anniversary of the launch of the car.

Phone me for a chat if you need more details 07778 856287.

Nice one Howard for sorting the stand and the lads for takin their cars ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. Looked good ! I Couldnโ€™t get round much as we were on our own M25 Classics stand. Thatโ€™s a long 5 days we we there with setting up. Got back at 1 this morning ! As Rob said the roads were murders ! Did have a good laugh up there though and managed to have a couple of arguments ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Many thanks to Wayne, Roger and Paul for having their cars on the stand. All drew much attention and questions.

Wayne had several stating his red trim in his ex Thames Valley Mk2 Police car was wrong. However he had to state it is actually correct and looks really good.

Another really good event and with attendance circa 79000 it is back to pre covid levels.

It's always a good event, the problem is I spend more time chatting than I do looking at cars!
