Leaf springs
Just removed the rear springs from my 1966 Mk1 so they can be refurbed and found that they have a thin, tapered aluminium plate fitted to the top under where the axle fits. Can anyone tell me if this is the norm?

Yes it's normal to angle the nose of the diff down to cater for the low ride height.
