Hey guys, I'm new to the forum so saying hello. My name's Bob and I'm a big fan of the classic Lotus Cortina. I've owned a couple in the past but just recently bought a 63' model.

Apparently the one I've just bought had been sitting in a barn untouched for about 50 years, hadn't been on the road since 1966 according to the seller. The bodywork is in really good condition and the engine has been overhauled. Here's a few pictures for you to check out. Bought it from an online auction. Currently looking at a Royal Enfield 500 classic motorcycle too but deciding on whether or not to buy. Enjoy my weekend drives either in the car or by motorcycle, can't beat it!

Hi bobdad

The car looks beautiful! I saw it advertised on another website as well, the price seemed quite low for such a nice car.

Just a friendly piece of advice, I am sure that you have done your homework, but just in case, please make sure that you don't send any money to the seller before you can see or collect the car. Don't immediately trust the seller if he/she wants to arrange the transport for you.

As always, make sure that the car is a genuine Lotus Cortina before you hand over any serious money. Lots of scammers on the internet.

Congratulations, the car looks great. :D

It must have seen some action in the 3 years it was on the road. Not used for 50 years ?
Reshelled, wrong seats and leaf springs :(

I enquired about this car and asked if it had ever been shelled, he seem to skirt round the question and just said that it no longer had the a frame any more, but he did say it had ali panels , although these just bolt on esily I know, I thought that the car was a bargain but couldn't get up there to see it...........
