Popped up on the LCR facebook page. This white Mk2 Lotus on display in Australia in 2012.

Anyone know anything about it?

Any significance with the FEV number plate? The reg' rings a bell with people but no one is sure of it's UK history.

FEV 1H is the London to Mexico rally winning Escort, that's probably why the FEV reg sticks in the mind.

Are you not an LCR FB follower? I can find the photo but no idea how to lift it onto here.

Hi all

FEV 157H is a mk2 series 2 LC currently unrestored and living and driving in Perth WA. Not sure why its photo popped up (I'm not on facebook) but it is road registered in WA and I had it registered with its original UK plates.

The car came out ot OZ in about 2009 after I bought it in the UK.

It was originally a Ford Car (hence the FEV plate) and was used by Ford as a VIP loan car - handled by Cal Withers. It was first sold privately in 1973 and has (from memory) about 7 registered keepers since.

It is in very original condition and has retained almost all of the LC bits. Floors are good for rust but the front inner aprons have had a few (mediocre) repairs.
I'm currently restoring an ex race car Escort twin cam (OZ delivered) and if I ever get it finished the LC is next.

Its a genuine survivor and is still regularly taken out for a drive.

Thanks for the interest

jd

Cal is still going strong & has been selling off all his massive collection of many years of rallying memorabilia at various car shows over the past few years. Withers of Winsford was his garage if I remember dealing in all things Ford Motorsport.
