There are some other minor differences between the two wiring diagrams....for instance the number of cables coming from the voltage stabiliser and the wiring around the flasher unit and the direction indicator.
I daresay there are more differences but someone even sadder than I am can spend a happy evening discovering them and sharing them with the rest of us.
But I ask again.....why would Ford include a wiring diagram for a model not catered for in the handbook?

Hi Breeny - the books are available to LCR club members and the details are in the quarterly club magazine.
Are you are club member?

The Club reprinted handbooks were taken from original handbooks supplied to us.
The Consul Cortina handbook was supplied by myself and it was supplied to a friend of mine (long since passed) in 1963. His car was an early car but the original handbooks were not available new from the dealership and were sent to owners later in the year when they were printed!
The Cortina handbook was supplied by another member not sure I can remember who but it may have been Scott. The wiring Diagrams that you refer to are the only diagrams of a Lotus Cortina. There was never a diagram for a late Airflow car you had to improvise and use the 65-66 GT wiring diagram.
All diagrams Haynes, Autobooks etc are direct copies from the handbooks.

We were originally going to reprint the Mk2 handbooks but time and money ran out.

I have asked numerous times on here and elsewhere for anyone who has a late Series 2 Mk2 handbook to borrow or sell and have drawn a blank. I have never seen one and no one has actual proof that they exist.
Early and middle series 1 Mk2 handbooks do exist and are often on evilbay.

The club reprints are exact replicas of the originals supplied, so if the Cortina one was a 1971 edition then that is what they all are thankfully the Consul Cortina was an original 63 example!

SO; how do we tell if a MK1 handbook on Evilbay is an original genuine or a club reprint..... Does anyone know :?:

Rikki suggests there is a difference but can't remember what it is.

Hi Breeny - Thanks for joining the LCR. Please confirm what model you need the handbook for (MK1 pre-airflow or airflow) and I'll for one out and PM you the costs.

Hi All,

Sending out a request yet again for a Mk2 series 2 handbook!

1. Has anyone got one for sale?
2. Has anyone ever seen one?
3. Do they exist?
