Brands Hatch 15/16th August

Post by H Cortina »

I've had confirmation from "The Lotus Forums" that we would be welcome to attend the Lotus Festival at Brands Hatch on Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th August.

I await advice on any free tickets that may be on offer and confirmation that camping is still free.

Show and Shine entrants can apply online.

I asked about us taking part in a parade lap, response at the moment is:

Everyone in a Lotus is welcome to join the parade laps on Sunday from 6-6:30pm. Other than that we’ve a few anniversary’s that we’re celebrating on Saturday lunchtime and F1 demo’s on Sunday lunchtime.

I have said that most of us will have left by this time Sunday evening.

I will post more details later, but by all means start putting your names down for the event. Usual rule applies that if we get free tickets offered they will go to first come first served.

Regards

Howard

Hello, I've just joined LCR, I would be very interested in going to this event even if I have to pay, although it would be nice to get a freebie.
Hope this is not a silly question but does one have to be a current Lotus Cortina owner to attend?
I used to own a '66 MK1 in the late 60's early 70's.
Best regards,
Walone.

Hi Walone.

I think in fairness to those with a Lotus Cortina or Cortina Lotus then free tickets for stand cars would go to them first. If you turn up in something else without the word Lotus in it's name then you would probably end up in the public car park. We had a Carlton on the stand last year but that was a Lotus Carlton.

Not wanting to dent your enthusiasm suggest we review the situation nearer the time.

Thank you for the quick reply, my main concern was whether it was a closed event.
Regards,
Wal.

Struggling to get a response as to whether we are on for free tickets or will have to pay.

I plan be be at the festival with NAR on both days. Tina will be with me on Saturday and my Son and Grandson with me on Sunday. The forecast Is for a cloudless and hot sunny weekend - saw it in my dreams last night!

Hopefully this link works:

http://www.lotus-festival.com/news/lotu ... lyer-2337/

From the latest email I've had the wording implies we are on for free tickets/passes. Complication is i'm on holiday returning on the Saturday so at best can only attend on the Sunday.

Consequently I need 1 or 2 volunteers to help:

1 Someone to receive and post out the tickets/passes.
2 Someone to man the stand on both days from early on. Will also need some club banners and the like which I can let someone have nearer the time.

I'll get confirmation on whether entrance is free. I also need to tell them how many cars so i'll gamble on say 15.

This link shows possible layout which I think means we will be nearer the entrance than 2014.
