Are the Mk1 and Mk2 rear brake drums the same of different. Both 9". There are some lightweight "alfin" style racing drums for the Mk1 made by Alan Henderson - only listed for the Mk1 but would they fit an Mk2? Thanks C

Tricky one, this.
I know there are 2 different width rear axles on the mk1s, I think there was a change over in 64?
(no parts list to hand at the moment, so can't check if both mk1 axles use the same 9" drums on the GT/Lotus).
So, there is a slight possibility that there are 2 different offset 9" rear drums?
Having said that, the 9/65- mk1 GT use the same rear brakes as on a mk2 GT.
So, if mr Henderson's racing brake drums will fit on a 1966 mk1 GT/Lotus, it should fit on a mk2 GT/Lotus as well.

I have used the 9 inch drums off a self adjusting brake mk1 on a manual adjusting brake car. Fit just the same.
