Hi, my dad owned a mk2 lotus cortina back in the early 1970's any idea if its still around?

According to Dvla website the last road tax expired: 01/09/1982.
So it either long gone, waiting to be restored or possibly a race car but I am sure some of the guys on the forum may be able to confirm it its still on the club records.
