We have approached the Lotus Festival organisers with a view to the LCR having a stand at this years festival. Details here:

http://www.lotus-festival.com/

It is over the 16/17th August 2014 BUT THE MAIN DAY IS Sunday 17th.

I await details on costs, camping and which events the LCR can participate in. So more details will follow.

This was a popular event in 2013 and judging by comments received so far we should be able to put together a good attendance again in 2014.

This won't be our National Day but looking at the events planned it could still be a really good show to attend.

Please start to indicate below if you wish to attend (subject to further details).

Duly noted.

The Lotus festival organiser has been on holiday and will finalise club stands "later in May".

I can't post here or in QB yet the full details, but will as soon as i can.

Update:

Stand is confirmed. I have ticket details but can't release until next QB is issued so that all members have an equal chance of getting in for free (with a good turn out not all will).

Camp site is free.

Main day is the Sunday but there will be events on the Saturday.

More to follow.

Hi Howard

Just noticed that the details have been published for the Lotus Festival at Brands and the club has been given 20 free tickets, i.e. enough for 10 cars plus passenger. This is just a suggestion but to guarantee a good turn out would it be better to say that the first 20 tickets should be allocated to drivers only? In both of the previous events a number of passenger tickets didn't get used. Also to encourage a really big attendance, could the club maybe use the 20 free tickets to subsidise the cost of all the additional tickets required for those expressing an interest? The club could then purchase the additional tickets in one transaction and that would make entrance cheaper for everyone. The only drawback with this of course would be getting exact numbers known in advance but might be workable if everyone paid by a strict deadline. Might make it a bit cumbersome to organise but worth considering?

Regards

Simon

Cumbersome, yes and trying to give a deadline for payment has not worked this year for either Santa Pod or Donington.
If I had my feet up retired in sunny Spain I could cope with the time it takes to organise.

So to be fair to all I like the idea of the 20 tickets covering car and driver. Less than 20 cars and I'll distribute to those who have shown earliest interest as passenger tickets.

I'm not prepared to buy tickets on spec' as I've done that already this year and somewhere along the way it will backfire on me.
