Just to bring this back to the top again, we are nearly there for the numbers but not quite, to reiterate, only cars booked in through the club scheme will be allowed to be displayed, there will be NO turn up on the day and blag your car in, even if you pay the full admission price for both driver and passenger. you will be directed to the public car park with everybody else.
So please take advantage of the club scheme, and get your cheque sent out ASAP details below:
A three day pass will cost £80,
Friday & Saturday pass £60,
Saturday & Sunday pass £70.
individual day passes are available at £30 for Friday and £40 for Saturday and Sunday.
Each pass allows entry for Car and Driver, the special offer only available through the LCR is for every single booking there will be an extra pass for one person free, so it works out as entry for Car, Driver & Passenger.
Camping is available on the outfield between Woodcote and Copse Corners, there are showers and electric hook ups ( £10 per night ) the cost for camping is £10 per person per night.
We require a cheque to cover the days that you wish to attend plus any camping fee’s the cheque should be made payable to:
Silverstone Classic Racing Club Ltd and not the LCR.
We will also require the registration number of your Lotus Cortina, these cheques will not be sent on to the organisers until we are confident that we have the minimum requirement of cars for all days.
If there is not a bigger enough uptake we will return all the cheques.

All booked in, with camping as well. one small problem which wasn't made clear in the first email that came throught from the organisers is that on top of the entrance fees there is a 8% booking fee which we have not paid. I will send off the shortfall if you can re-imburse me at Silverstone that would be great.
always gets me why do they have all these add ons instead of having one price for everything.

News for all those booked to camp, the camping has now been moved to the Silverstone Woodlands camp site, there is no extra cost involved, and they provide a shuttle service to and from the circuit, the nearest gate to the circuit is gate 15, close to the new pit lane complex.
The website for Silverstone Woodlands is www.silverstonewoodlands.co.uk

To All those attending, the tickets have started to come through, and I am sending them out as soon as I have all of the passes etc, Anton and Old Racer yours are going out today, still waiting for Car passes and camping passes for the rest.
We have been allocated a place in the Blue area, along with six other Lotus Clubs and unfortunatly the MG owners club ( a gallon of unleaded and some matches should sort the MGBs out) amongst others.
On Arrival To find the LCR club area you need to look for a sail flag bearing the LCR name. as more details are sent through I will update you.

Rick - I know some members of the MG Owners Club and they seem like a decent bunch. They have as much enthusiasm for their cars as we do for ours. I'm not sure it's a good idea to pass on such comments about other clubs, whether or not it is intended as a joke. I think we all need to act professionally to maintain the reputation of the LCR.

MG
Simon,
I know you are correct in what you say about their's and any other clubs members.
Rick's opinion is his own and is not about the individuals just the cars and the movement overall.
It stems from many years ago when he was small and in his Coachbuilt Silver Cross pram and his mum was pushing him along near Epsom Downs.
She was hurrying along as it looked like it was going to rain and an MGB came around a bend and got it all wrong and slid on the damp and almost into them missing them by a whisker.
A lot of mud and stones was thrown up and ended up on the Pram covering little Rikki and Mrs Nock.
The driver just sped off without so much as a buy or leave. Fortunately no one was hurt.
However she did manage to get the details of the car and as the story was told many times over in the Nock household Rick grew up with a somewhat distorted take on anything MG!
I suppose from this you can gleen that as far as the MG movement is concerned and its 50,000 members, Rick is taking what his Mum said as gospel all those years ago, "All MG drivers are W****ers!"
