not particularly
i would like a Mk 1
But am worried over the authenticity
have read that there are about 6000 lotus cortinas
about and only 3000 having been made by Ford /Lotus

Have heard this story so many time's and thats all it is !! a story !! there are no more mk1 or mk2 lotus cortinas registered with dvla than where ever made !! it's complete crap !! plenty of re-shells !! one thing you cant change on a car is the vin number !!

but the vins do change shells and still the prices go up !

Yes your right a vin can jump from one car to another. But you cant make a lotus/clone out of fairy dust !! you need a chassis number and there where only so many made by ford/lotus these number's remain the same.

Yes Robert, that particular Lotus cortina URBAN MYTH annoys me too and I posted my thoughts on it on B.S.C. a while back, but it seems to be one of those stories that just won't go away. It seems a good headline is still a good headline, even when it's actually bollocks.

another thing i hate is when you see say a bonnet and the words LOTUS put before it !!!!!!!!!!!

trying to bump up the price.not a myth !
