I phoned about this car a couple of weeks ago, wouldn't take any less than £45k.

I can't see it making that. It looks rough in the pictures (paint blown over everywhere), look at that petrol tank , scruffy all over, so I can only assume it looks worse if actually viewed.

I sent an engineer from Guildford to Preston to inspect this car.

I also managed to contact 2 previous owners (plus a Vicar who admitted to owning a Morris Minor - but that's another story !)

Rear axle was changed out by one of the previous owners around 1981 and he recalled having to put in a 2nd hand Diff.

Report on vehicle was not great and various problems were found. I made an offer on it that would allow me to rectify the problems and end up with a car that was worth what I would have in it. I supplied a copy of the report to the seller along with quotes to get the required work done. Seller was of the opinion that someone would eventually buy it at the price quoted or close to. My offer was £15k under his ask as it would cost that to put it right.

Someone probably did and they will sadly be disappointed down the road unless they managed to get price reduced drastically.

A copy of the vehicle inspection report was lodged with the LC Club for future reference
