SUNDAY LUNCH

We’re doing it again!!

10th August - meet about 1pm to eat around 3pm at the same venue as previous years. We’ve set the date and we’re hoping someone will join us?

We’re being made as welcome as in previous years (we obviously can’t have disgraced ourselves enough yet) and we’ll have the separate parking area again.

…so how about it?

The Lamb & Flag, Faringdon Road, Longworth, Nr Abingdon, Oxfordshire just off the A420 Swindon – Oxford road.

* From Swindon exit A420 on right signposted to Charney Bassett & Denchworth (just after dual carriageway starts)

* From Oxford exit A420 on left signposted to Charney Bassett & Denchworth (about 1 mile after the sign to Kingston Bagpuize & Southmoor)

* Then after a few metres turn right at the roundabout (this is a dead-end road)

* The pub is on the right in about ½ mile

It’ll make a change from a soggy field…

Either let me know the number of people through this forum or call/text me on 07971 459667.

It’ll be great to see you...

Kryss,
Almost forgot!
Great British Beer Festival Earls Court you asked me to let you know when its on this year. Well its from the 5th-9th Aug.
The LCR North London Chapter are attending on Friday 8th from 11.30am Will the East Midlands contingent be available for aperitifs in the feature bars of Caledonian, Cains, Fullers, Green King, Hogs Back, Hook Norton, Marstons, Refresh, Shepherd Neame, Sharps, SIBA, Theakstones, Wells & Youngs or Woodfordes to name but a few.
Of course that is not including the breweries like, Oakham, Wychwood, Salamander, Big Lamp, Pheonix, Blindmans, Rebellion, Newby Wyke, Cannon Royall, Peak Ales, Otter and Slaughterhouse really too many to mention. I think there are over 150 this year bound to be something you like! Thats 150 breweries not barrels!
Andy M

PS I know this is not car related but I would imagine we will discuss cars sometime during the day amongst other things!!

Hi Andy

...ambidextrous-ness would have come in handy. Have also finally mastered new signature after a few Bodds and Doods.

Really MUST get Lotus out for a run. She's only been to the garage round the corner since last year's lunch and is probably feeling pretty sorry for herself right now - she certainly looks it. The years are telling on her, just like her owner!!

As for GBBF, as inviting as it quite obviously is, it actually wasn't me who asked. (Now understand, this is the girlie talking rather than the geezer bird) as a member of CAMRA for more years than he'd admit to in public, my husband, formerly known as my squeeze, receives his What's Brewing and as our social life already revolves around beer festivals and the GBG acts as our B&B/tour guide when travelling the length and breadth of this sceptered isle, I'm not sure I'd put it at the top of my priority list. Believe me, I've been to some scabby places "for a decent pint". My alter ego on the other hand, would love to meet up for a few beers at Hook Norton for a Hooky Dark, Woodfordes for a Norfolk Nog and Wychwood for a Dog's Bollocks, followed by an Orkney Dark Island, Skye Black Cuillin and working my way down the country to a Black Sheep Riggwelter, a Dent Ramsbottom, another Hooky Dark, a Ringwood Old Thumper, then across the water for a Tegernsee Dunkel and round off with a Tyskie Okocim - now THAT'S what I call a good night out... xx

Hi Kryss, and All
Spoke to Darren & Zara yesterday and they said they would be in attendance so with John And Marion coming from Bristol maybe they can persuade a couple more from down their way. We just need to drum up some more from the home counties and midlands!.
Of course all are welcome you do not have to be from the places mentioned.
I am trying to get Diagonal Pitching Penson involved.
What about the Essex boys thats a nice run out for you.
Mr and Mrs Kent may want to put some miles on there newly finished motor! plus I would`nt mind seeing Sprint GT again nice car.

I had a call from Tim Turner to say that he & Hazel should be joining us all being well. I'll call the pub tomorrow but it really doesn't matter if there are more of us on the day - I'm sure they won't mind.

OK YOU 'ORRIBLE LOT!!

Who forgot to pay for their meals on Sunday? Nice try.... but I'm out of pocket £20 because 2 of you did a runner!!

Hi Bristol lot - you had another man with you and the pub remembers the 4 of you going up to pay before the rest of us, but what about the other bloke (sorry whoever you are but I don't know your name)?

Also, there was another guy there who I'm sure is local and Curly was going to have some bits from you or something??? Sorry but again I'm hopeless when it comes to names.

It was good to see you all & for those of you I won't see again this year - have a great Christmas

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you - whoever you are...
