Mmmm, would make more of a day out if i went through the tunnel and then back over the bridge. Let us know time, and agree Thurrock Services is ideal.

Ah but i have a Dart-Tag which reduces it to £1.00 each way.

If you meet early enough the crossings free before 6am!

Saturday only cars are asked to get there for 10.00 so I don't think I will be taking advantage of the free crossing!

depends on how long the queues are going to be!

Anyone who wants to get to Brands earlier can do so by all means. I only requested a specific time for the Saturday only cars as I thought it could make it a little easier to arrange the cars in the required formation. However, it's not 100% clear at the moment exactly how much space we will be allocated and whether there is space along the sides of the stand where we can move cars in and out. I will be clarifying this with the organiser. I will be on site hopefully by about 07.00hrs.

For anyone who is interested, Lotus owners are being invited to go on a two lap parade of the circuit if you register between 10.00 and 11.00hrs on the Saturday. More details here:

Let me know if you are meeting up as Wayne and myself will join you if thats okay. Mind you HNO still got plenty of water getting into sump, must be water pump as head been off twice and tested all okay. Worried about breaking down so might put car on lorry if I dont fix it this weekend.

Wayne also taking CHJ. This will be its maiden voyage, so again reliability unknown. ?

Oh the joys of classic motoring????????? :D

That's a bit ambitous, can't you take it for a test drive first?

Steve 155C and me Graham (139) are meeting up on Saturday in the The Black Swan car park at Pease Pottage (off the A23) at 08.15 - 08.30 to travel to Brands in convoy. Anyone else from the South want to join us?

The Festival organisers have very kindly submitted a news article about the LCR on their website. Should be a good bit of publicity for the club and next year's 50th anniversary. For all those who sent in pictures , sorry not everyone's car could be featured but all attendees will receive a mounted 8x6 picture of their car after the event. Link to the website here:

Just received another email from Paul Golding, organiser of the Lotus Festival. He has sent me the pictures below of the campsite that has been allocated for us. It looks a pretty good site, separated by a road adjacent to the Seloc campsite. Apparently we will be sharing this campsite with members of some of the other clubs attending. Anyone camping on this site will require wristbands which I am hoping to collect from Paul early on Saturday morning.

Paul also sent me a map of the campsite in PDF format but I have been unable to download it on to the forum. I can however email it to anyone who needs to see it. Looking at the plan of the site which you can download from the Lotus Festival website, I am almost certain that the campsite is next to the karting centre, in which case, it's a fairly short walk to the toilets and showers.

Seems we could be looking at 30deg + for Sat & Sun. Take a hat!

Update from Simon:

"Attention all you racers out there. I have just had a further communication from Paul Golding. There's going to be a karting competition on Sunday for all the Lotus clubs attending the Festival. Arrangements as follows:

Meet at the kart circuit behind the Kentagon for 10.35hrs to sign on, suit up etc. Start time 11.00hrs

There will be 2 x 10 minute heats – 7 karts in each, so 14 clubs/groups.

The top 4 drivers from each heat will compete in a 10 mins final.

Only one driver per club so who would like the chance of representing the LCR?

Simon"
