All members who have applied to go to the Silverstone Classic through the Club Scheme should now have received their tickets / passes, for those who are camping we will be setting up the LCR enclave on Friday afternoon, so far we know of 11 campers who will be there with 7 LCs, if anymore members wish to join in please let us know and we will allocate space accordingly.

Will it be best to fit a set of town & country tyres for the camp site?
Only joking, . . it'll be sunny by then !

It was a corker of a weekend , great racing and good company. Poxy campsite nearly had me beat (axle deep in mud) , but I'm glad I stuck it out until Sunday as planned. Nice to meet you Ozzy. You and your pal do look a sight in 4 door MK2 with your coppers helmets on!

Thanks Steve, good to meet you too. Sorry, I didn't get to buy you a pint for helping me keep my car in one piece as it fell to bits infront of you as we travelled from the camp site to the track! LOL. I owe you one mate.

Rick and all the guys. Thanks for a real good weekend. Only been home half hour. Fantastic venue. Good to meet new people and put faces to names.
Even the women had a good time. Just got to deal with the sunburn now.
Many thanks once again

Hi all,
Just got back myself, good show. Just think the organisers need to sort out who gets hard standing and where. Having the hard standing next to the paddock cafe given over to 50 odd identical MX5's, Did'nt seem right when there was very rare cars up to there sills in mud.
Still the LC stand looked excellent and very popular.
Cheers
Louis
P.S I owe you a round of drinks Rick.

Hi there to all you guys & first of all I want to say I'm very sorry not to have been able to got my racer over to the stand to display, but unfortunately the clutch let go after only 2 laps of the race & I had to abandon ship at Becketts, but at least got to watch the rest of the race from the trackside & boy was it a good one !!
Net result was a tow back to the old paddock & it had to stay there.
Geoff also didn't have any luck & did only one lap before the gearchange messed up, so we were both pretty peed off !!
It's a pity the stand was so far away from the old paddock this year & I hope that the same doesn't happen next time !!
Regards to you all & how about a trip over to the Spa 6hr weekend in September ? That is always a great w/e & only costs eur15 entry for the whole weekend !!! Makes S'stone look v.v.v.expensive !!!!
Yours, Martin

Thanks to all who attended this event and made it another memorable weekend, whilst we couldn't do anything about the state of the campsite I do believe that we were let down with our area at the track. there was plenty of hardstanding that could have been allocated to the LCR but was used so that 09 and 10 plate BMW's could be displayed, Being the event is called the "Silverstone Classic" you would have hoped that "Classic" cars that are over 40 years old would take priority over 1 and 2 year old cars.
Its a shame that both Martin & Geoff had a dissapointing race, maybe it was my call for support in the program that put the kiss of death on their weekend.
But all in all a great weekend of racing and meeting face's old and new.
on the parade lap on Sunday we counted 49 F40's which were celebrating their 25th anniversary, can we beat that number next year when it is the 50th Anniversary of the Lotus Cortina? I would like to hope so.
This year we had 17 LCs on the stand on Saturday and 14 LCs on Sunday, a great turnout and thanks to all who came.
