What I saw of it was just brilliant - congrats to all who spent time & effort to pull it off - I just picked the wrong day & that 24 hours of almost continuous deluge, plus no sleep, finished me off by Sunday morning.
All that damage to those race cars was hard to take though..... especially Geoff Letts' one.

Great to hear how much everyone enjoyed the weekend. The effort Andy and Simon put in was legendary. Shame I couldn't meet more of you but the race car kept 4 of us busy on saturday and 6 people busy on sunday to get it to the grid....I don't think we disappointed!
Thanks everyone for the commiserations regarding the damage, we have another door for the passenger side which will greatly improve it's looks and are heading to Paul Ricard Circuit in France on wednesday. The performance on sunday in the race showed the chassis and suspension is just fine.
Following the race the guys pitched back in and tidied up the back end so we can fit a tail light and get the boot to close properly.
With 80 road cars and 20 race cars present over the 2 days I'd like to think we can consider the final tally as the magic 100 cars! Fantastic thanks to everyone who attended.

Thanks to everyone involved in organising the weekend-I work in Facilities management and I know how much effort it takes to make an event run as smoothly as it did- you all deserve a huge pat on the back.
The venue was great and the two Lotus Cortina races were a sceptical to behold- although I was wincing at the damage done to the cars during Saturdays wet race!- poor Geoff, you’ve got your work cut out fixing that near side damage
After all this time it was great to put some faces to names and a thanks to the members who voted for my car as runner up, unexpected, but it made the ten hour journey home more bearable!

Geoff, thought you drove an inspired race on Sunday. Great to watch.
Great start but then you had to cut right which must have lost some momentum? If you did it again with hindsight, would you chance staying left & risk it on the grass?
Best of luck for Paul Ricard.

just like to thank the organisers for all their hard wok in assembling such a large number of cars in one place, id like to congratulate the owners too for the amount of work they must have put into the cars , from what i saw they looked better than they probably did when they came from the factory! i can see i'll have to try a bit harder next time, in fairness though ive only owned it for 20 years,!but i did enjoy camping in the deluge on a punctured airbed ,ha ha! but loved all the racing ,shame i live so far away in wales or i would attend a lot more events. again thanks to all involved jeff and dan watts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It will be impossible to top the w-end. Over 80 Lotus Cortinas in one place at ONE time (including the race cars) AND, that Saturday race whoa...!!
Was great to meet and have good old natter with both Jack & Sir John about the good old day's.
Simon Godfrey, thanks to all your family for their hard work, as usual!
it was a pleasure to have your daughter with me for the parade on Saturday. Hope some of her video was ok via a very wet screen.
Darren, sorry I missed your transporter load-up, gulp!
Feel well chuffed to have been a part of it.
A well happy 'Old racer'
P/S Geoff Letts,
if you need a rear light unit, I have several you can choose from? (No charge of course!)
Mervyn.

We wish to thank all the organisers for a superb 50th celebration of the Lotus Cortina. An appropriate venue with exciting LC racing (sat's race best of the weekend), and a magnificent display of members' cars. A special thank you to Jack Sears, Sir John Whitmore and Bob Dance for their interesting and humorous anecdotes!! A perfect compliment to an outstanding evening. A big thank you to all who voted 178TJH best Mk1, we are very proud and delighted!

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved at The Lotus Cortina Register for making it one of my best race weekends. Everyone who came over to chat about the cars, and show interest in what we do made it a special weekend.
It was made even better by the Jim Clark award I was given by Sir John Whitmore on Sunday which was on behalf of the LCR. Thank you for producing such a great trophy, and I hope you all enjoyed the racing that took place. Saturdays race was tricky to say the least, and has left me in dire need of to new front wings now! Anyone who can help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again to you all.

Just to say thanks and well done to Andy, Simon and the whole commitee for the organising of the Brands weekend. It was a great weekend made even better by the Saturday evening bash. I hope your guest speakers were impressed by the turnout. I’m sure they had many more stories to tell.
Even the weather on Saturday had its benefits as it gave those of us who were there a chance to see 20 odd lotus cortina’s in characteristic tail out pose round nearly every bend on the circuit.
I know Geoffs weekend was a little more expensive than he’d hoped as he managed to collide with a spinning Norman Rickets(no
, out for the first time in his rebuilt Lotus Cortina, which was built around a shell I sold him some 20 years ago!! But that’s motor racing.
Once again well done I look forward to the next QB with a full report on the event.
