Thanks for all your input Tommy. You knew that keeping all of those old QB's would come in handy!
Don't pack them all away just yet - you might need to get handy with the scanner.........

Well Steve, if the Mrs wasn't so good at hiding them it would be easier. I haven't laid my hands on ones from 2006, 2007, 2008 yet.

First National Day was at Ashton Court Bristol on May 25th 1986.
Yes, I was there, and have the plaque to prove it!

Dont faint, I actually went to that one; well it was my birthday, but it was on a trailer....... I remember Colin had his on the back of his truck & mine was on a trailer. The access road was about a 1:5 gradient & very narrow - then a lorry came hurtling down it. Not pleasant. But I did win first prize.

Could you post up a picture or scan of the plaque?

That is definitely worthy of a special mention in the LCR history books. Michael - I'm relying on your proof reading skills - Notice the mistake in 1991?

I first went, to Longleat, in 1989. I'd just started my restoration. It was inspirational for me to see all the Mk1's lined up together. It really set me up for the four and a half years that were to follow.

Re: National Days...who can name location, date and years?
7th National Day was at Longleat House on June ? 1992 (date not given on plaque but I will check my QB's).
8th National Day was at Castle Combe Circuit on June 5th 1993
I will check my QB's for details of the 9th National Day in 1994 and get back to you.
10th National Day was at Castle Combe Circuit on June 3rd 1995
If my IT skills permit, I will send a picture of the plaque for the 1st National Day.
I missed the spelling of Wiltshire in the details for 1991....a travesty really since I am a long term resident of the county!

Thanks Michael. Spelling mistake now corrected.
Once Michael confirms the last missing venue , we still need to fill in the gaps on some of the missing dates.
Thanks All.

Re: National Days...who can name location, date and years?
The 7th National Day was held on June 7th 1992
The 9th National Day was held at Castle Combe on June 4th 1994
Checking this information from the July 1994 QB, I was reminded about how very different the magazine was back then.....black and white yes, but 48 pages of closely typed script with an absolute mountain of information, news, letters, adverts etc., etc.
They really were the "good old days".
Still working on how to send a picture of the plaque for National Day no.1.

Re: National Days...who can name location, date and years?
Just setting expectations here Michael . I could fill 48 pages, but the font would be a Wide Latin 28 pitch ...Michael Winstock wrote: ↑Thu 1st Nov 2018 3:53 pm ........... Re: National Days...who can name location, date and years?
We are about to enter a new era. Hopefully all of the original members have either 1) Binned their old QB's , or 2) Lost their marbles , so will not realise that the bumper 48 page issue they are about to receive is a recycled edition form the 80's but now printed in colourKeith Halstead wrote: ↑Thu 1st Nov 2018 4:11 pmJust setting expectations here Michael . I have some old copies occupying space, never looked at but could be of interest to a member collecting them.
pm me if you would like some particular ones!
