First run out in lotus since buying it, lots of interesting cars. Parked near a very nice mk 1 escort twin cam and saw at least 4 other Mk 1 lotus cortinas. Good day well worth a visit next time.

Rick - I counted 6 MK1's + 1 replica.
Tim - NJD...E was there. What a cracking MK1. The new owner had a right result bagging that.

Rick: Saw on the forum that you were going kept a look out for you but didnt see you. What car was yours ?
Steve: Yes AEU is mine, purchased with the help of Rick from Holland a few weeks ago.
Anyone: Clutch bearing went on the way home, anyone know of any good suppliers for spares

I had a great day at Goodwood too. Met up with Dave Mudd, a LCR face from the late 70's and all other LCR members who were there! I first met Dave at Goodwood in 1983 at a Club Lotus Track Day. I took a few pics last Sundaybut I'm having trouble uploading them for some reason - something must have changed on the Photobucket site - or is it me? guidance welcome please Louis/Steve/anyone!!

Keith thanks for your very kind offer I will e-mail you my address.
Whilst the gearbox is off it seems sensible to change clutch and presure plate as well as the bearing. I would like to have everthing before starting but been told there are two different types of pressure plate meaning two types of bearing. One plate has a metal ring the other does not.
Any help would be appreciated
David

One has a thrust collar/pad which mates to the earlier flat faced type of thrust bearing & another has just the clutch 'fingers' and uses the later bearing. I only have the early one so let me know if that is the clutch you end up with ie the one with the pad)
