Hello, thought i would look on this part of this forum and recognised the reg number of the lotus you are looking for.

I know the car exists as i went to view it to buy a short time back.

It needs resto, the engine, clocks, pedal box, wheels, and more are missing.

i was not sure if it was genuine so have left it for now but i think the owner still has it.

I am looking for the mising parts and may purchase it and resotore it to is former glory.

Do you have any of its paper work on any pics from when it was new?

Cheers.

I owned this car up untill about 18 months ago
Original colour is blue mink, not white with green stripe
When I sold the car it was very sound but needed restoring, brakes, clutch stuck, paintwork. etc etc
I had this car laid up in a garage/dry stored for over 11 years
I have pictures from 18months ago but dont know how to upload them
Car was a 100% complete and running when I sold it
Funny enough I rebuilt engine just before I laid it up.

I hope this helps

The car still looks like that on the outside, shame its parts have been stripped off.

I am thinking of buying it and restoring it but it will cost a bit to get all the parts.

I have pictures of it as it is now but dont know how to put them on here?

The new owner has had the engine rebuilt again!

I have a feeling all the parts were taken from VDJ to help restore a very rare and special ex police car?

That is correct. The 4 door car looks very good, still a shame to strip a car from all its orginal parts though. I would have sourced parts from cars that have been broken up a long time ago.

i have arranged to view VDJ again and i may buy it! Will cost me a lot to obatin the parts unless some one on here has the parts on here for a resonable price?

May be better if I buy a complete car and restore that instead?

Why not buy it and fit later running gear
The car was very sound so would make a good track car?
You dont have to worry about the wheels and trim then.
At the end of the day it is still a genuine Lotus?
Put a TC in at a later date.
This is the road I am going to go down on one of the rolling
shells I bought the other week.

Hello, thats what i may do to be honest. I am a bit of a purist though but as long as its on the road i can find all the bits i need and fit them as and when.

I would consider putting in a x-flow or something for the time being.

Are you selling one of the rolling shells you picked up (think you sent me a message about them) If so, what sort of money are you looking for one and what age etc. How much of the car is missing? My email address if you could send me some pictures please is matt.drake@fsmail.net

i have a set of sandard wheels which i can fit and they shouldn't look to far out of place.

Not sure how much i should pay for VDJ with all the bits missing?

Cheers. Matt
