2025 National

Post by waf »

Hi folks,

Has a venue for the 2025 national been discussed yet.
There is an event, well publicised on social media , to celebrate 60 years since Jim Clark won the F1 title for a second time and the 500. Jim Clark will alway be associated with the Mk1 Lotus Cortina and many would say made the car such the iconic car we enjoy today.
Any way an extract from the Jim Clark trust below.- 20 Lotus Cortina’s!

“Great news! We’re thrilled to announce that we can now confirm 20 legendary Lotus Cortinas are officially booked to appear at the event, making this a truly unmissable spectacle for racing enthusiasts. Alongside these iconic vehicles, attendees will be treated to an incredible assortment of very special racing and rally cars that are guaranteed to leave motorsport fans buzzing with excitement. This event will showcase the largest collection of racing cars ever assembled north of the border, solidifying its place as a historic gathering for car lovers. Don’t miss your chance to witness this remarkable exhibition of speed, power, and engineering excellence – make sure to secure your early bird tickets!

This looks a good event

Sharon & myself will most likely go to this event on the Sunday and make a long weekend of it
We will travel up on Friday afternoon and spend Saturday in Edinburgh
Go to the show/Castle on the Sunday and head back Monday morning

If any one wants to meet up for a 'jolly up' please let me know

400ish miles (6 hours) each way for us so wont be in the Cortina

Cheers

We Have been invited to hold the LCR National Day with the Mk1 Owners Club along with the Mk2 OC and the 105E OC.

It is a free entrance for all members bringing a Mk1 and a Mk2 Lotus Cortina (the LCR will pick up the Bill)if your not bringing a Lotus Cortina or attending in an other vehicle then I believe you will have to pay (there are no exceptions to this).

Camping is available with a cost, Motor Homes are welcome, but due to a change in regs, they must be parked 7 meters apart from each other.

There is a road run to the Hook Norton Brewery that you can dine in, this needs to be pre booked at the venue (details to follow)

You can if need be arrive on Friday 1st August to set up for camping etc.

As more details are released they will be posted here.

Hope to see as many of you as possible, and fingers crossed for good weather.

Looking forward to this National, always a good turnout with a lot of Fords.

Me and John Hunter are going up - me in my Police car and John in his last of the Mark 1's built

Looking forward to seeing a lot of Lotus Cortina's there supporting the Club
