Well you could look at Car and Classic to see what cars are on sale for as a starting point !

Current Market values with cars actually selling are only a rough guide.

This is a bold statement, but almost all the cars that have sold lately at auction have been suspect as non genuine!
Not all obviously, but many, therefore, as many prospective buyers would be aware of these "outed cars" auction prices are not indicative of genuine cars sales!

Being in the market for a MK I LC I was most interested in the ball park values supplied by Keith in this post. However that was almost a year ago. No doubt these have all altered since - assume upwards. Any current figures available please?

Also I understand from reading that a reshell drops the value. This is understandable, but by how much?. Two related questions:
1. If a LC was damaged in an accident and the body was replaced with another LC body of the same period / model is this considered a reshell?
2. If a seller is open about their LC starting life as a Super etc. and not a LC, and the price is adjusted accordingly, then I guess this would not be seen as an issue within the LC community. Willing buyer etc.

I really appreciate all advice.

Best

I wouldn't say that prices have changed much over the year as I haven't seen many change hands. Rikki or Andy run a valuation matrix so should be able to tell.

In answer to the reshell question, my view would be :-

1) Value would not be affected as it's still a genuine shell. I'm not sure where the DVLA would be nowadays?

2) As long as it's declared as such & the buyer is happy with the price no issues I would say. There's a lot around.
