Just dusting off this old topic. Is this something you would like put on the agenda for the AGM? Any Aussie / NZ members willing to step forward?

63 GT - Its very informal. Usually you are a point of contact for local members , to promote the club in your region. The could be promoting local event , liaising with the club officials on things like car verification etc.
A regular write up for the QB Mag would be good.

The trouble is, we are all so far apart.
Gatherings would be few and far between.
An annual event would still be a big ask because of the travel distance.
For example in 2012 we had the Cortina Nationals where about 12 Lotus Cortinas gathered, I drove 3000 Kim's for that.
In 2013 we celebrated 50 years of Lotus cortina at Sydney Motorsport Park, I travelled about 2000 kms for that one.we had 12 cars for that.
I regularly attend car shows throughout South Queensland at the best we've done is 3 Lotus Cortinas in one place.
If you get my point, Lotus Cortinas are thin on the ground here in the colonies, not because there are so few, but because the ground is so large.
I have over 50 Lotus Cortinas on my register here in Australia. So they are out there, but they don't get them out much.

Excuse me Rick. Point of order. What is Australia and Islands? Maybe New Zealand is the Island!
Jay- really 50? I have always guessed 20-30 when anyone asked me the question. With 50 we could start our own club! At least we could have more contact amongst ourselves.

Yes Peter, 50.
I have 43 MK1's and 8 MK2's on my register.
A couple of which may be replicas ( I have not yet seen them up close)
A couple of those have recently returned to the UK

Yes Tommy, it is an Island but it's part of Australia. If you say "Australia" it includes Tasmania by definition.
It's sort of like saying UK and Scotland (no result yet in Australia). Its part of UK isn't it.
I'm wondering what Island Rick was talking about! Somebody has to keep up Michael Winstock's fine reputation!

Happy New Year Guys! I missed the 'Lotus Cortina Gathering' on the south coast several years ago. Saw the photos, which were fantastic. I would be very keen to be involved in another of these events, if any of you guys would like to participate again?

Hi Fotho,
I've seen photos of the gathering you refer to. Looked like a great day/ Weekend.
I would love to be involved in something like that.
Maybe it could be paired up with a Small Ford Club of NSW gathering.

Hi Jay,

That's a possibility. Also, the Hunter British Ford Group is meeting the British Ford Car Club QLD at Moree over the June long weekend for the 4th Small Ford Round Up. That could be another opportunity to entice Lotus Cortina owners to join us. Otherwise, we could work on a halfway venue between NSW & QLD and try to put together a weekend away event just for the LC's...

Moree in June sounds good.
I'll make some enquiries with the British Ford Club
We should run with this
