why do they keep updating stuff and making it harder to work out ?!

Yer, I'm getting some bloke trying to sell me some rough old Lotus Cortina, with an Irish plate 4234 RZ, for a couple of grand.
why do they keep updating stuff and making it harder to work out ?!
